I spent some time with this individual so he deserves a few or at least a couple of shots - super cute bird.
It’s fascinating to me that their legs and bill are orange in summer, with a black tip on the bill. In winter, the birds legs fade from orange to pale yellow, and the bill becomes mostly black. Additionally when they aren’t foraging, they are masters of camouflage, so it takes a bit of intense looking in soft sandy areas away from the water to spot them. They often forage alone as this guy was so I spotted him. One can clearly see the grains of beach sand on his beak - proof positive he was foraging 😄
With the blowing forty, luckily the sand was wet, so it wasn’t blowing around but his feathers were all “kerfluffed”. 😀😀
