Just came across this beautiful illustration by @sas_runi for Lanfear/Selene in The Wheel of Time S2.
At this point in the story Lanfear has been living in the Foregate outside Cairhien This culture is a mix of French and Japanese.
We had an original piece of Japanese fabric in navy blue but wanted to do a charcoal version fot Lanfear. The atupendous @lily.bailie.studio duplicated and hand screen printed a vwrsion of the fabric at the studio in Prague.
It wss then painstakingky cut and brought to life by the uber talented @karenbob73 to make this stunning coat, incorporating the trademark Lanfear sharp shoukders and the inverted moon shape on the back.
Finally Lily added some silvery elements which glistened in the dark and demonstrated that at this point Lanfear has one foot in the real world of Cairhien and one in the world of the Forsaken.
