Easy train ride away from Madrid: Sergovia is a historic city in central Spain's Castile and León region. Its centuries of settlement have resulted in a rich architectural legacy, including medieval walls, Romanesque churches, a former royal palace and a Gothic cathedral. Its iconic ancient Roman aqueduct has more than 160 arches, most in the original mortarless granite, and stands above Plaza Azoguejo in the heart of the city. . It’s said the castle was the inspiration for the Disney castle. Must see! Wins my prize for Most UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the smallest city: 24. Isn’t that amazing?

YogaWisdomOfTheDay ~ uncertainasana = isn’t part of the magic of each class is that you don’t know what will happen? yoga is a metaphor for life. let the unknown turn you on. no fear. no stress. full of potential. limitless.

2/8/2020, 10:10:46 PM

Perfect start to my day: YOGA! My favorite part of Cecile’s Vinyasa class was this: In Savasana she did a “mini personal sound bath” for each person by taking a tiny windchime and circling our head. (Of course I peeked!) . It was heavenly.

2/8/2020, 12:21:39 PM

YogaWisdomOfTheDay ~ appetiteasana = show up with a beginners mind to your class. each time I practice yoga there is a piece that feels like it’s my first class. there is nothing else that feels that way to me. everything becomes yoga. how amazing is that? consistently leverage your insatiability to continue to explore where this ancient science - this powerful, proven tool for living a balanced life - will take you. . thank you yoga. thank you.

Say hello to my soul sister @almusaywa - who I spent a very special day with today. We have so much in common; we both worked in TV News, we both love the philosophy of yoga, we both are yoga teachers and we both are deeply passionate. We have an uncanny ability to post here on IG about the same subjects - without speaking to each other beforehand! Hence the idea that we are soul sisters living 5,724 miles apart! Without social media we may have never met. . I am honored that she led me through a private class that left me feeling whole, grounded, inspired, and loved. You MUST follow her here on IG if you haven’t found her yet AND you must come to her studio when you are lucky enough to be in Madrid. . Thank You Almu for a magical day. Will be back before you know it. We love it here. And You!

You must experience Marrakesh for yourself ~ the overwhelming marketplace, the food, the culture, the architecture, and the shopping. In the medina you will also find fresh produce, restaurants and food everywhere, snake charmers, witch doctors, dancers, crazy henna ladies and people of all ethnicity’s and backgrounds telling stories – and most likely, a cultural experience for yourself.

The Hassan II Mosque (Arabic: مسجد الحسن الثاني‎, French: Grande Mosquée Hassan II) is a mosque in Casablanca, Morocco. It is the largest mosque in Africa, and the 10th largest in the world. Its minaret is the world's second tallest minaret at 210 metres (689 ft). Completed in 1993, it was designed by Michel Pinseau and built by Bouygues. The minaret is 60 stories high topped by a laser, the light from which is directed towards Mecca. The mosque stands on a promontory looking out to the Atlantic Ocean; worshippers can pray over the sea but there is no glass floor looking into the sea. The walls are of hand-crafted marble and the roof is retractable. A maximum of 105,000 worshippers can gather together for prayer: 25,000 inside the mosque hall and another 80,000 on the mosque's outside ground.

African Safari Myths: An African Safari is an adventure holiday. Fact: A traditional safari is a relaxed event that takes place in a vehicle. You are driven around on a guided tour looking for wildlife to watch or photograph (usually twice a day). Your only exertion will be to lift up your camera. The guides are incredibly knowledgeable and funny.

Day2 Safari: Beautiful Baobab The Baobab tree is a strange looking tree that grows in low-lying areas in Africa and Australia. It can grow to enormous sizes and carbon dating indicates that they may live to be 3,000 years old. The African bushman has a legend that tells of the god Thora. He took a dislike to the Baobab growing in his garden, so he threw it out over the wall of Paradise on to Earth below, and although the tree landed upside-down it continued to grow. It is not surprising that such a strange looking tree should have superstitions linked to it. Some people believe that if you pick a flower from a Baobab tree you will be eaten by a lion, but if you drink water in which a Baobab's seeds have been soaked you will be safe from crocodile attack. Plus - Elephants Yesebee Ostrich Zebra Cape Buffalo Kudus Giraffes Lions Although the Acacia tree is my favorite this Baobab really made my day. Our lodge has Great food, excellent service, and our guide is knowledgeable and sweet. The last time I was in Africa it was luxurious, yet my tent didn’t have AC or a plush mosquito netted bed. We’re in heaven.

1/22/2020, 9:53:24 AM

Mt. Kilimanjaro lies in northern Tanzania, a country in the Eastern part of Africa. It is located very close to the equator. Mt. Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano, and it is the highest peak in Africa, making it a member of the seven summits. It is in fact formed of three volcanoes lying on top of one another. The three volcanic cones are Mawenzi, Shira and Kibo. Mawenzi and Shira are extinct but Kibo, which is the highest peak, is dormant. The exact location of Kilimanjaro is 3.0674° S, 37.3556° E. Though it lies completely in Tanzania, you will find many references to it in Kenyan tourism advertisements. This is because it is just across the border from Kenya, and some of the best views of Mt. Kilimanjaro are from Kenya. Being the highest free standing mountain in the world, it does make for some striking images, especially with the African wildlife around. When deciding how long you need to complete your climb up Mt Kilimanjaro, you need to factor in your experience and fitness level. If you regularly hike up high peaks and are familiar with acclimatization and find it easy to acclimatize during these hikes, you may be okay with a shorter climb. A bad reason to opt for a shorter time is the cost. Usually, costs for a shorter trek are lesser as the associated costs of park fees, porters and logistics are lesser. However, a shorter trek means a much lesser acclimatization time. Acclimatizing properly is vital to the success of your trip. On average, people take between 6 and 8 days to complete the trek up Mt Kilimanjaro, depending on the route. We are going for 7 days taking the Lemosho route! I have heard the night sky from Mt Kilimanjaro is magical. We have our fingers crossed the night skies will be clear. We picked coming in January for this reason. I’m thrilled to be back in Africa. I was here 15 years ago in S.Africa, Namibia, and Botswana with a girlfriend and have dreamed of coming back with Michael because he loves nature and animals and adventure. I’m giddy with excitement. Stay tuned! Excited and nervous!

1/11/2020, 6:44:10 AM

Flew over our upcoming adventure on the flight to Nairobi; Kilimanjaro! Mount Kilimanjaro routes and their variations take between five to nine days to complete. We are doing the seven day hike. Although Mount Kilimanjaro is known as a "walk-up" mountain, we understand you should not underestimate it and its risks. The overall statistics show that less than half of all climbers reach the summit. Stay tuned!

Here are the ways in which every phase of the moon affects each area of your life: When the moon is new, we set our intention. New moons are exactly what they sound like: They mark the beginning of a new cycle and are the perfect time to kick off any new project or idea. New moons are a good time to draw up a plan or to lay the foundation for what you want to manifest in the coming six months. New moon rituals are a good idea to set intentions or initiate relationships and really tend to them for a half year. If you want a fresh start, choose what you want to let go of and what you'd like to manifest, and the new moon will favor your efforts. When the moon is waxing, we spring into action. When the moon is waxing (which happens about a week after the new moon), you'll get the lunar boost of energy you need to spring into action. According to astrologists the Astrotwins, "Since this moon is waxing (growing fuller), it brings a reminder to pick up the pace and make sure that our actions match our words." If you've made a promise to yourself during the new moon to start a new fitness routine, to prepare yourself to get a new job or to finally slide into somebody's DMs, the waxing moon will endow you with the next-level confidence and energy you need to carry out your goals. However, this isn't a time for impulsivity. The best actions are well-thought-out, measured and logical. When the moon is full, results manifest. The full moon is when the intentions you set during the new moon (six months prior) start to manifest. This is part of why full moons are such an emotional time. If you aren't seeing the results of all your efforts, you're most likely thinking about why you aren't where you want to be. Either way, it's a good idea to really look at the last six months and see how far you've come so you can celebrate your progress. The two weeks AFTER the full moon (leading up to the next new moon) are the weeks when you'll see the real results of your efforts. When the moon is waning, we take out the trash. The two weeks after the full moon is when we reap the rewards and enjoy the fruits of our labor.

Michael is better at planning & preparation. I’d just throw a bag together the night before... but I love that about him. Hiking Kilimanjaro soon is exciting ~ and terrifying at the same time. . One of my 2019 goals was to do something that scared the shit out of me; like when I learned to fly a plane. Why? Because I’ve learned that it’s in that space of challenge and reward learning something new and pushing myself beyond my comfort zone that I THRIVE! . Have you figured out for yourself? Share below what you do or use to reach a new awareness and/or grow as a person? We want to know!

12/28/2019, 1:37:05 PM

Need a 2020 goal? Practice yoga in another language! You know the poses. You can look up and see the cues. It will allow you to get very quiet, and focus on very tiny and simple insights, and drop into a place where the global conversation of Yoga touches us all! . Training hard each day to hike Kilimanjaro soon, I acknowledge to myself this morning I needed a different type of yoga experience. I use yoga, and so should you, as a tool that supports all of my day: physically, emotionally, and spiritually. . I knew I needed something that would allow me to explore deeper, longer holds in postures, with the assistance of props. . I have visited many studios in Paris, and there is a huge concentration of great yoga studios here in my neighborhood. I will post a list of studios with their addresses on my website soon so that you can keep them for when you visit Paris next time! . Add to your list of 2020 yoga experiences: 1. Try a new style of yoga 2. Try a new studio or teacher 3. Take a yoga class in another city or country And my favorite: 4. Practice in another language . Namaste
