Bike day 🚴🏼‍♀️🚴🏻‍♂️ After arriving at our new campsite near Lossiemouth on the Moray coast, we headed out on the bikes for a few hours. Our destination for cake and coffee (oh and chips!) was Findhorn. We started out on the road and then went down to the fishing village of Hopeman, having taken a little trail down to the beach. We then followed the Moray Coast cycle trail to Burghead then back on the road to Kinloss which was sooooooo windy 🌬️ and soooooo flat! ⚡️ Depuis sa première édition en 1891, le Paris-Brest-Paris est devenu au fil du temps une épreuve mythique, qui attire des cyclistes venus du monde entier. 🇪🇺 Cette année, 71 nations étaient représentées au départ. C’est Charles Terront qui a été le premier vainqueur de cette épreuve de 1200 km. Il utilisait à l’époque un vélo de 21 kg, équipé d’un pignon fixe en 42 x 17, le dérailleur n’étant pas encore inventé. 🤩 Cette course est devenue une « randonnée », organisée tous les 4 ans par l’Audax Club Parisien. Cette année encore, au milieu du peloton des 7000 participants, nous avons pu admirer de splendides vélos, certains d’entre eux étaient équipés en pignon fixe. 🌲 Dans cette forêt de vélos, majoritairement faite d’acier et de carbone, nous avons repéré quelques adeptes de cette frugalité de braquet. “Drenched but determined! 🚴‍♂️💦 Sometimes, the road to victory is paved with unexpected challenges, like a relentless downpour during the Ironman World Championship 70.3 Lahti race. •Connecting with Trees• Sometimes I forget what I did in June - I cycled to Poland! But then the pictures come back to remind me. It was an incredible journey through breathtaking countryside and forests, which filled me with happiness and mindfulness at that moment and continues to give me strength now. I'm busy with various courses, trying to incorporate more yoga and sound healing into my work life, and opening up to more opportunities while meeting the right people on my path. They predicted a lot of rain last night, and this was really a lot of rain. The tent dripped all over the inside. On our sleeping bags we put towels and clothes so the drops don't get on the down. We are surprised that it is dry around the tent. All morning we sit under the tarp, waiting for the rain to ease up. Around noon, we have waited long enough and leave. Those 30 kilometers of descending yesterday, we have to go up again today. Slowly we climb out of the valley, optimistically saying that the sun is shining up there. After two hours of climbing, we find a small hut to have lunch. After fifteen minutes, the sky clears and the sun begins to shine. An unexpected gift! We lay everything out to dry and completely recharge our own energy. The climbing is far from over and the kilometers crawl by. By chance, because the planned route wants to send us along an impossible hiking trail, we discover a small hut. Another gift today!
