I truely believe that if you want to raise healthy kids, you’ve got to get them in the kitchen as early as possible. Get them familiar with fruits and veg; let them touch, taste, smell and squish! Let them help as often as possible and have them take some responsibility for your family meal now matter how small of a role that is (even if it is just peeling an onion!) Kids that learn to cook grow into adults who start life on the right foot…and with the right plate! I know it can be time consuming, and I know at times, it can be frustrating, but this investment could possibly be the best one you ever make…and who knows, they may even cook you the odd meal or two as a teenager! (Well, here’s hoping! 😉) Last night, Penelope and I made my superfood salad 🥗 This deliciously light yet filling salad is packed full of phytochemicals, nutrients and yumminess 😋 Simple scatter handfuls of fresh rocket on a platter and then top with lightly steamed broccoli (I used a whole head minus a few bites! 😂), a couple of handfuls of pomegranate gems, 1/2 an orange capsicum finely diced, 1/4 Spanish onion finely diced, 6-8 green olives cut off the seed and then finely diced and then some crumbled feta on top if desired. Daar was de ‘beruchte’ vraag weer ‘Clau is keto een dieet of niet? Ik doe het maar kan het bijna niet volhouden, maar mijn buurvrouw zegt dat …’ Laat los wat de buitenwereld zegt en ga je gevoel volgen. De buitenwereld is helemaal in de ban van het diëten. Van Keto tot IF, van potjes, maaltijdvervangers tot …. zoveel. Er zijn gewoon een paar feiten waar je mee te dealen hebt; A. Voor de buitenwereld doe je het toch nooit goed, de ander weet het altijd beter. B. Je lichaam is van puur natuur en heeft gewoon alle voedingsstoffen uit de natuur nodig. Dus koolhydraten, eiwitten, vetten etc. C. Je lichaam geeft feitelijk zelf aan wat het allemaal nodig heeft, je mag er meer naar gaan luisteren. D. Om af te vallen doen calorieën er wel toe. Eet je teveel, of het nu gezonde of ongezonde voeding is, dan kom je gewoon aan. En tot slot, laat je niet gek maken. Als je voelt dat iets niet voor je werkt, kap er dan mee. En stop met jezelf veroordelen. Je doet het gewoon goed. Tip: je hoeft niet in 1 week je hele leven en eetpatroon om te gooien, doe het gewoon stap voor stap. Kleine doelgerichte stappen hebben altijd het beste en duurzame effect. Dus wat kan jij vandaag al anders doen? Stel je eens voor dat je al verlost bent van de kilo’s en bruist van energie, wat zou je dan vanavond wel eten? En hoe laat zou je dan wel naar bed gaan? Trust the proces, jij kan het! Ps. Ja ik zie keto als een dieet.
