Hello! ð its been a loong time since i last posted!! Heres a bit of an update on our garden progess.. before *when we first bought the house.. during *when it was all cleared ..and after *our current progress. ðĪĐ I will post more pics of the finished decked area once ive got the garden furniture out! Super proud of this space now. Its all ready for some summer bbqs ððķ
The fireplace is complete! ðĪĐðĨ Its been rebuilt, repointed and the hearth has been created with beautiful marble tiles. There's still some touching up to do and we need to have the log burner properly installed and then it'll be all ready for cosy winter nights ðâïļ
Colder nights are on their way. âïļ . Time to dig out the knitted jumpers, candles and cosy blankets ðĨ° . I've loved every minute of summer. - I've loved seeing the garden flourish and completing the back yard with AstroTurf .. we've ticked off so many jobs and also had time to enjoy the house... but now I'm ready to install the log burner in the snug and have cosy, relaxing nights by the fire. . Is it too early to think about Christmas ðâïļðĪ
Loving my garden this year. ðð· . Back in the January lockdown I planted over 100 bulbs with Esmae to keep us busy.. we worked so hard tidying up the garden and planting lots of things in the hopes that it would all grow - and it sure has!!! . We have a tonne of pumpkins growing ðąð , cabbages, rosemary, chives, thyme, oregano, parsley, lemon thyme and raspberries... As well as looooooads of stunning flowers ððð . I'm super proud of the garden and I love looking out at all of the bees enjoying the garden too ðððĶ
It's been a loooong time since I last posted but we've done so much over the last couple of months! . - it's been exciting and exhausting.. but it's all in preparation for our long awaited house party/birthday celebration on the 26th to finally enjoy the two years of blood, sweat, tears and hard work that has gone into this house. . I will show you the latest updates around the house over the next week. ..but for today, here's a glimpse of our new stair carpet which has made the house feel so homely ðĨ°
He has amazed me again.... . Since moving in to the cottage and realising we couldn't actually fit in a dining table with chairs either side as there was no space to get past we decided that storage benches would be the perfect remedy. . - it may have taken 8 months to get them built but we're so chuffed. . ..they aren't finished yet as we're still waiting on the seat pad foam to arrive which will then need covering ..but we're so happy to be able to all get round a table together! . Huge thanks to my hubby @elliotbiggs94 ð .. without him none of my visions would be brought to life. (I attempted to help with the benches and failed miserably. I'm better at manning the workforce than being a part of it ðŽð)
A little food for thought today... . Its really easy to get sucked into thinking that everyone else's lives are perfect as you scroll through social media ... But behind every picture are real people, real homes and real families just trying to navigate their way through life and learning as they go. . If you do one thing different today .. be true to yourself. Make mistakes and learn from them. Don't strive for perfection, strive to be the best version of YOU.
Swipe to see the before pic ðąðąðą . This has been my latest job which I'm really proud of.. I still need to paint the wood at the top but its 1000 times better already!! . The back of the house has been the dumping area since we moved in - it's the door that we use on a daily basis out to the driveway so it was always somewhere I rushed past to try and ignore the mess. Now it is clean and tidy looking and a safe area for the kids. . Another job â ð
New light ð - we've had the new flooring down for a week now and its truly amazing. I've had the excitement of buying an awesome mop that spins itself dry ðą and we even treated ourselves to a shark cordless vacuum!! . We're constantly ticking off jobs around the house. Elliot managed to put on the plinths in the kitchen last night .. tick â . I've even painted the outside of the house and the fence in the back garden. Its brightened and cleaned it up soo much. Another job ticked off ðâ . Skirting boards left and carpet on the staircase and we're pretty much finished all of the major jobs ðąðąðĪĐ
Hello sunshine ... Where have you gone today ð . We haven't managed to perfect the outside of the house yet .. it's still very much a building site! - but I've planted my plants in the back garden and placed a load of pots along the front so I look forward to all of the beautiful flowers ððžðšðļ
I finished digging over the garden. Lots and lots of bulbs were planted so we enjoyed a windy garden picnic yesterday! ð . Exciting news!! Our flooring arrived yesterday and we had a very late night laying it. It's going to take us all weekend to complete it so look out for progress pics ðąðĪĐ
The amazing garden find ðą . Whilst doing something in the back garden a couple of months ago I randomly came across this amazing crystal just hidden in the long grass and was gobsmacked. After bringing it in and cleaning it up it now sits proudly in our kitchen ð . Unfortunately whilst digging in the garden I haven't come across any more treasures - but I'm pretty fond of this one ðĪĐ
*Not a beautiful tidy pic today but, I'm on a gardening mission!!..It took me hours yesterday to get the garden cleared and then dig up (literally hundreds) of bluebells .. ready to plant around 300 bulbs of a variety of summer flowers. ..I can't wait to see what the garden looks like in a few months time ð ..There's still a load left to do yet to get it finished! . Whilst we're in lockdown we needed a little project and I've had my 6 year old being my little helper... I do the digging and she's planting the new bulbs! ð ððĶð§âðūð·ðžðšðđ
I caught a glimpse of a tidy kitchen yesterday ðą it seems a rarity during lockdown. There's usually a pile of kids plates, bottles, cups and Cheerios scattered around the worktops ðĪĶð―ââïļ . Our flooring should be arriving soon ðĪðĪ I'm so excited. We will then be able to properly finish off skirting boards, plinths etc. Woohoo!!
I hope lockdown 3.0 is going well for everyone. We're keeping busy each day and enjoying some family time whilst daddy isn't working. . We've just managed to order all of our downstairs flooring which should be with us next week!! ðą - Elliot is going to fit it himself whilst he has time off. I'm soo excited to have proper flooring down instead of concrete and rugs ð . My house plant collection is still growing. ð I have this lovely Spanish moss hanging in the bathroom soaking up the moisture. ðŋ
Jasmine ðŋ the most beautiful smelling plant - currently growing on our bedroom windowsill so we can enjoy the stunning smell when we wake up ð . * i also have a jasmine growing on the lounge windowsill which is much bigger and currently more fragrant. I may have a plant addiction ðŽð send help.
Happy Sunday all, cheers ðĨ .. A nice soak in the bath to finish off the week. ððžð§ââïļ . #norubberduckyinhere ð
Today marks the last day of our 'circuit break lockdown' on the Isle of Man. . I am so excited for life to return to normal tomorrow. We are incredibly lucky to be in the position we are in - kids returning to school tomorrow, shops opening back up and able to see our family and friends again. . I am currently embracing a nice chilled evening - kids in bed early ready for the mad school rush in the morning and life returning back to my busy normal. ...I welcome it with open arms. ð
