Ciao lettori e lettrici, ho appena chiuso l’ultimo libro che mi ero portata dietro per questi giorni di vacanza al mare 🌊
Mentre scrivo mi godo gli ultimi sprazzi di sole e salsedine , stasera tornerò a casa… alla routine e alle mie responsabilità di studentessa.🙈
Sono molto felice però di aver trascorso questi giorni all’insegna del relax, in compagnia di persone a cui voglio bene e in compagnia di storie belle, appassionanti e toccanti 🧡
🏚️La mia prediletta: un thriller psicologico davvero ben scritto. Scopriamo la vicenda attraverso punti di vista differenti che si alternano, i personaggi sono perfettamente caratterizzati, tanto da riuscire ad empatizzare con loro. Durante la lettura la tensione emotiva è mantenuta sempre costante da un senso di angoscia ed inquietudine, fino all’epilogo in crescendo … Davvero consigliato !
🔪Come uccidono le brave ragazze: un libro che ha spopolato sul bookstagram/
booktok e su cui in realtà non avevo grosse aspettative, ma che invece si è rivelata una lettura carina, nulla di eccezionale ma scorrevole e appassionante , con una protagonista risoluta e coraggiosa che non si perde mai d’animo e persegue strenuamente nella ricerca della verità e della giustizia. Uno young adult - giallo in cui compaiono anche temi molto attuali e importanti primo tra tutti il razzismo e la discriminazione ma anche il bullismo, l’abus0 sessuale e l’uso di stupefacent!.
🥃Eleanor Oliphant sta benissimo: anche questo è un libro super conosciuto ed elogiato, che a dispetto di un inizio lento, poi mi ha davvero commossa. La protagonista Eleanor, è una sopravvissuta, sopravvissuta ad un’infanzia davvero difficile, sulle cui ceneri ha cercato di costruire una vita il più normale possibile, fatta però di solitudine e alcol . Un giorno, rimane coinvolta in un evento inaspettato che da una scossa alla sua triste routine e che scatena una serie di eventi che la porteranno a scoprire che la vita nasconde anche bellezza e che un atto di gentilezza a volte può salvare.
Un libro davvero toccante e profondo .

Bien le bonjour Booksta, j’espère que tu vas bien. Aujourd’hui, mon coeur saigne de devoir tirer un trait sur cette trilogie que J’ADORE. C’est honnêtement une des trilogies les plus complètes en termes de descriptions, de complots et de dépaysement, et ce tome 3 n’est pas en reste !
(À noter qu’un tome 3.5 va paraître, sur les contes de Daevabad, avant, pendant et après la saga)

Comme je te le disais, j’ai adoré ce tome. C’est un coup de coeur pour plusieurs raisons.
Les personnages d’abord. Admirablement écrits, j’ai vraiment appris à aimer Ali dans ce tome, n’étant pas un grand fan à la base. Je continue à apprécier la courageuse Narhi, haïr Manizeh. Et comment ne pas brûler de compassion pour Dara, l’Afshin flamboyant ?

Je ne veux pas trop t’en dire pour ne pas spoiler, mais une chose et sûre, les intrigues politiques de reconquête se mêlent à des desseins de créatures aussi terrifiantes que légendaires. Les alliances se nouent et meurent, jusqu’à un dénouement attendu mais néanmoins le meilleur possible, selon moi.
Les personnages souffrent et sont motivés par ce qu’ils pensent être juste. Qui est bon, qui est mauvais ? Sommes nous des habitants de Daevabad pour en juger ?

C’est précisément ce que j’aime avec cette plume. Une écriture qui ne laisse rien au hasard, qui nous permet de s’immerger dans l’univers. Plusieurs fois, je me suis surpris à imaginer ce que pourrait être la riposte guerrière et politique d’Ali et Nahri, d’envisager la trahison de tel ou tel personnage, …

Bref tu l’auras compris, cette saga aux accents orientaux, terriblement riche par sa mythologie, sa description fine de la politique et des rivalités, est pour moi une des références incontournables en fantasy. Si la taille peut faire peur, il faut vraiment l’envisager comme un voyage, plutôt que comme une lecture, et se laisser entraîner dans les rues de cette millénaire cité de Laiton.

las ik Tussen twee werelden van @lauradianenl . Het is het tweede deel in de dystopische serie voor young adults die zich afspeelt op de meest magische plek ter wereld die zijn duistere kanten laat zien. Mocht je het eerste deel, Tussen twee vuren, nog niet gelezen hebben, dan raad ik je aan om deze recensie niet verder te lezen, want het kan spoilers bevatten.

Het verhaal wordt voorafgegaan door een terugblik op het eerste boek. Als er enige tijd zit tussen het lezen van de twee boeken is het fijn om de gebeurtenissen van het eerste deel weer voor de geest te halen.
Tussen twee werelden gaat verder waar deel 1 gestopt was. Je zit gelijk weer in het verhaal en bent terug in the Magic Kingdom waar het steeds onrustiger wordt en zelfs hardhandig wordt ingegrepen bij een demonstratie. Het verhaal wordt vanuit Ayla verteld in de ik-vorm in een meeslepende verhaalstijl. Het pretpark wordt goed beschreven en het komt tot leven. Je wil blijven lezen in het boek; zeker als er halverwege een enorme plottwist zit die ik zeker niet zag aankomen. Vanaf dat moment is het helemaal onmogelijk om het boek weg te leggen en deze was dan ook in korte tijd uit. De personages in het boek zijn heel divers en vooral Ayla maakt een grote ontwikkeling door.
Tussen twee werelden is een dystopisch young adult verhaal met spanning en plottwists die speciaal wordt door de setting in the Magic Kingdom. Als groot Disneyfan is het geweldig om door het park te lopen en zelfs op plekken te komen waar je als bezoeker niet komt. Het hele boek door ga je op zoek naar de zogenaamde Disney en Marvel easter eggs die achterin het boek vermeld staan. Ik ben erg benieuwd hoe het verder gaat in het derde en laatste deel. Het verhaal waardeer ik met ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

☾ Je ne vais pas trop en dire pour ne pas spoiler.
C’est un tome assez lent jusqu’à la deuxième partie du livre. Sincèrement, j’ai eu du mal à reconnaître Kiva. Elle est plus indécise mais fait toujours preuve d’une grande bienveillance. Elle est dans une situation compliquée mais il m’a manqué la fille de caractère du premier tome.
☾ Vous savez que je suis une adepte du slow burn. Je trouve Jaren et Kiva touchants, ils ont une belle alchimie mais je n’ai pas compris la lenteur de leur romance. Peut-être un peu trop young adult à mon goût ?
☾ Sinon, j’aime la trope found family que l’on retrouve. Et c’est bien ce qui rend tout si compliqué d’ailleurs ! Kiva qui avait juré de ne s’attacher à personne a bien du mal à camper sur ses positions. Mention spéciale pour Torrell !
☾ On en apprend plus sur Kiva et ses origines. J’ai trouvé ça intéressant et il nous reste encore pleins de choses à découvrir j’en suis sure.
Mais sincèrement, en lisant je savais que ce tome n’allait pas bien se finir, je me doutais de certaines choses et tout ça ne m’a pas empêché de vivre pleinement les révélations, plot twist et autre cliffhanger ! Parce que l’intrigue reste prenante.
Comme à la fin du premier tome, j’appréhende la suite parce que Lynette est tout aussi sadique.

[LA MASCHERA DEL NŌ]👺
Ho letteralmente divorato il primo volume delle Cronache dell’acero e del ciliegio di @cam.monceaux in una giornata e l’ho semplicemente adorato.
La storia ha un ritmo incalzante che ti tiene incollato al libro ed è piena di approfondimenti sulla cultura teatrale nipponica del periodo Edo che a me ha sempre affascinata. È stata davvero una perla scoprire questo volume pubblicato da @ippocampoedizioni !
Sicuramente ora mi fiondo nella prima libreria a recuperare anche il secondo volume “La Spada dei Sanada” ma nel frattempo volevo condividere con voi questa illustrazioncina che mi ha ispirata molto questa lettura

Words seem inadequate in expressing how this book has made me feel.
For centuries, women have struggled for liberation in various facets of their lives, struggles that have often been disregarded and trivialized.
Yet, despite these obstacles, we persist, buoyed by the hope that one day, society will appreciate us for who we truly are, rather than using us for what we can provide for men.

'Bitter' fühlt sich an wie ein Safespace als Roman, wie eine wohltuende Umarmung. Es handelt sich um das Prequel zu PET, allerdings funktioniert es auch hervorragend alleinstehend - ich selbst habe PET noch nicht gelesen, bin nun aber neugierig geworden.
In 'Bitter' steht die gleichnamige Protagonistin im Fokus, die zusammen mit ihrer engsten Freundin Blessing an einer Kunstschule studiert. Während sie sich in ihrer geschützten Uni wohlfühlen, spielt sich auf den Straßen ihrer Stadt tagtäglich ein gewaltvoller Kampf zwischen der Polizei und Demonstrant*innen ab. Die Aktivist*innen demonstrieren gegen den Kapitalismus, gegen eine weit auseinanderklaffende Schere von Arm und Reich und ganz konkret gegen den ausbeuterischen Reichtum der Mächtigen in ihrer Stadt. Bitter selbst hält gar nichts von den Protesten, Hoffnung ist für sie nichts als Naivität. Durch ihre Freund*innen gerät sie schließlich doch in die Community der Aktivist*innen und muss sich entscheiden, was sie für richtig oder falsch hält und wie weit sie gehen wird.
Ich habe noch keinen Roman gelesen, in dem die Charaktere so liebevoll und vor allem achtsam miteinander umgehen. Consent wird in jeglichen Beziehungen selbstverständlich eingeflochten, alle Interaktionen finden respektvoll statt, was ich grade bei einem Young Adult Roman sehr vorbildlich finde. Natürlich gibt es trotzdem Konflikte und zu verurteilendes Verhalten, jedoch sieht Emezi von einer simplen Aufteilung in 'Gut und Böse' ab.
Somit empfand ich es als sehr erfrischend, dass manche Beziehungen zwar kein 'Happy Ending' hatten, aber auch nicht in Groll und Rachegefühlen endeten.
Neben dem Community-Gedanken spielen auch Trauma sowie Traumabewältigung eine große Rolle. Manches wurde meinem Empfinden nach etwas zu schnell abgehandelt, insgesamt fand ich den Fokus auf Heilung aber sehr gut.

The Ballad of Never After - 3.75⭐️
This is the second book in the ‘Once Upon a Broken Heart’ Trilogy. I still don’t really know how I feel about this one.
I was honestly so confused the whole book. I had so many questions and then near the end when things were getting answered - the last chapter just made me confused all over again.
I sadly find Evangeline to be a little insufferable now… maybe it was because I listened to this one on audio instead of reading physically. In the first book, I loved her and in this one I found her to be annoying and a little dull? I fee like all she spoke/cared about was how hot she found Jacks (girl, same) and how she feels sooooo guilty about thinking that. She felt very one-dimensional for some reason and that made me so sad
I think for the third book I’ll go back to reading physically. Hopefully that will help.
I also don’t know if our dear boy Apollo is now our villain? I mean I’m obviously team Jacks. I feel like everyone is. This book opened up so much about him and now I can’t wait to read the last book. He is really all I care about now. My favorite part about this book was his BANTER. I literally laughed out loud at some of his title comments. I love love loved him.

See You On Venus is a dual-POV story following Mia, a teen in the foster care system who has a heart condition, and Kyle, a teen struggling to come to terms with a horrible tragedy he experienced just a month prior. Though connected in a way Kyle doesn’t realize, he goes on a trip with Mia to Spain as she tries to find her birth mother.
What stood out to me was the theme of the book. I think it’s important for people to realize that, even in a world where it feels like everyone is against you, there is someone that is happy you exist. While I think the theme could be handled a bit less heavy-handedly in the story, I do think it came across well and with a positive tone.
Set against the backdrop of Spain was a great touch. Neither of the main characters had been to the country before, so it was fun to experience how each of them felt about their experience. It certainly has made me want to visit Spain and see the locations and try the food Mia and Kyle described.
The dialogue is what kept me from rating See You On Venus a bit higher. It often felt stilted and unnatural, making the story feel like it may have originally been designed for a middle-grade audience rather than a young adult audience. Ultimately, I think it’s minor and it does serve the story, it just wasn’t always my cup of tea, and that’s okay.

Une excellente série jeunesse. L'univers est original et riche, l'histoire parfaitement bien ficelée et les personnages bien travaillés et tous très attachants. Il y avait tellement de pages en plus que j'ai beaucoup de mal à passer à autre chose ! J'ai passé énormément de temps avec ces héros et j'ai un peu de mal à décrocher ! C'est pour moi un beau gage de qualité ! Et puis les couvertures sont sublimes !

CHRONIQUE ADO : « La dernière saison de Selim », Pascale Quiviger
Cela faisait un moment que je voulais me plonger dans la superbe série des « Pierres d’Angle ». Avant (je l’espère !) de trouver le temps, place au dernier roman ado de Pascale Quiviger, « La dernière saison de Selim ».
L'empire de Selim, son soleil de plomb, ses dunes à perte de vue, son sultan cruel fils de tyran cruel, sa religion incarnée par la Déesse Innommable, sans oublier sa Prophétie qui a commencé à se réaliser, et qui annonce l’apocalypse. Avant qu'il ne soit trop tard, la dernière chance de Selim repose sur un étrange duo : Esmée et Mercenaire.
« La dernière saison de Selim » est un livre très sympa. Du fait de son univers très riche, il est un peu long à démarrer, le temps de poser les bases de l’intrigue. Mais une fois lancés, les pages défilent toutes seules et nous voilà tenus en haleine jusqu’au dénouement. L’autrice a un vrai talent pour construire un univers original et plein de profondeur dans lequel évoluent des personnages très intéressants qu’on prend plaisir à suivre. Les habitués de Pascale Quiviger seront ravis de retrouver Esmée et Mercenaire, déjà présents dans « Pierre d’Angle ». Les nouveaux lecteurs de leur côté auront sans doute envie de prolonger la lecture par les quatre tomes de cette série.

👑 J'ai acheté ce livre à sa sortie en 2012 et je ne l'avais jamais sorti de ma PAL avant de tomber sur une occas' sur la suite... J'ai craqué et ai acheté toute la suite, donc je me suis lancée sur la lecture de ce premier volume plus de 10 ans après son achat !

Trois cent ans ont passé et les États-Unis ont sombré dans l'oubli. De leurs ruines est née Illea, une monarchie de castes. Mais un jeu de téléréalité pourrait bien changer la donne. Elles sont trente-cinq jeunes filles: la "Sélection" s'annonce comme l'opportunité de leur vie. L'unique chance pour elles de troquer un destin misérable contre un monde de paillettes. L'unique occasion d'habiter dans un palais et de conquérir le cœur du prince Maxon, l'héritier du trône. Mais pour America Singer, cette sélection relève plutôt du cauchemar. Cela signifie renoncer à son amour interdit avec Aspen, un soldat de la caste inférieure. Quitter sa famille. Entrer dans une compétition sans merci. Vivre jour et nuit sous l’œil des caméras... J'ai été très agréablement surprise par La Sélection ! J'ai acheté ce livre à 12 ans donc je me disais qu'aujourd'hui il ne m'intéresserait sûrement plus, et pourtant, j'ai bien aimé ! On n'est pas sur un coup de cœur car on sent que ça reste destiné à un public assez jeune et il y a quand même des défauts mais j'en ressors avec un très bon ressenti. Les personnages sont un peu clichés et l'histoire est assez prévisible et pourtant je me suis beaucoup attachée à America et Maxon qui sont très bien développés. Pour faire court, j'ai aimé cette lecture qui est loin d'être parfaite mais qui s'enchaîne très facilement !

Grace ukończyła studia muzyczne i chciałaby podjąć pracę w tym kierunku. W Seattle ciężko jej znaleźć staż, jednak z pomocą przychodzi wujek Siu, który w Korei Południowej w Seulu ma swoją wytwórnie muzyczną. Grace leci do Korei, aby zdobyć upragniony staż i doświadczenie, dzięki czemu po powrocie będzie mogła starać się o pracę w wytwórniach w Stanach. Jednak na miejscu okazuje się, że jej zadaniem będzie doglądanie i zapewnianie wszystkiego czego potrzeba członkom jednego z najważniejszych grup k-popowych na świecie. Różnice kulturowe i zwyczaje azjatyckiego kraju są dla dziewczyny kompletną nowością, a członkowie grupy SWT są dla Grace bardzo nieuprzejmi. Najbardziej z grupy wyróżnia się Lucas, który uprzykrza dziewczynie życie oraz Rae, który jako jedyny nawiązuje z nią w miarę normalną relację.
Jako osoba, która w swoim życiu przeczytała już wiele książek, z wielką ochotą sięgam po książki, których fabuła jest inna od reszty. „My Summer in Seoul” odkryło przede mną reguły działania świata k-popu.
Książkę czytało mi się świetnie. Przenosi nas ona do świata dalekiego kraju i poznajemy wiele zwyczai, które w nim panują. Mimo iż pierwszy raz czytałam książkę, której akcja odbywała się w Korei Południowej, nie miałam problemu z wczuciem się w miejsce wydarzeń. Poczułam też klimat tego miejsca jak i klimat, który towarzyszył innym wydarzeniom w książce.
Fabuła jest bardzo dynamiczna, czasami tylko jedynie zwalniała, aby potem przyspieszyć i dostarczyć czytelnikowi kolejnych emocji.
Jak najbardziej polubiłam się z bohaterami tej książki. Każdy z członków zespołu był inny, a moją największą sympatię wzbudził Sookie. Jedynie Lucas był toksyczny, jednak pózniej jego zachowanie się zmieniło. Co do głównej bohaterki czasem wkurzała swoją infantylną gadaniną, ale ostatecznie było to do przeżycia.

The Rapijali series is very different from Dee Lestari's other novels that I have read, such as Supernova and Aroma Karsa. The story is fresh, full of humor. Maybe because this series consists of three books, this first book is an introduction for readers, so it is packaged with a light delivery. I really enjoyed my time finishing this book, because it was light and I laughed a lot at it. I also like how Dee describes Ping's friendship and hardships as a high school student. The plot was according to its portion, no more no less. This book also features an album containing songs composed by the characters in this book. These songs made me more imaginative, sitting directly with Rapijali in the band's studio. This book is a beautiful short escape that makes me remember my school days which were full of silly stories and drama.
