The eagles nest near me has THREE fledgling eagles!! The last time I saw the nest was about 10 weeks ago and the eggs hadn’t even hatched yet - it’s wild how quickly the babies grow! This juvenile was very eager to test out its wings. It was hopping around all over the nest and surrounding branches. You can see one of its less active siblings on the right too 🦅

I finally captured both eaglets together. One was wingersizing a lot. The mom was sitting off to the side. Dad flew in and around the nest, showing how it is done. Then he flew off onto a farther tree and remained there when I left. Eagle home schooling 101. (around 5:30 - 7:30 pm) As the eaglets grow older (now about five weeks), the adults don't stay in the nest as much. Both adults were in a tree near the nest. The female, on the bottom, flew off. The male flew back and forth to the nest quite a bit, showing the eaglets, look, this is how we take off and this is how we return.
