Beginning downtown at the Boston Common and Public Garden, extending out to Back Bay, and all the way to Dorchester, this 1,100 acre, seven-mile-long public park system is a cherished green oasis in the heart of the city. Years ago, JC cultivated a plot in the Fenway Victory Gardens, where he grew edible and decorative plants, trees, and even some hop bines! The second beer in the series takes us to The Riverway, a 34-acre park that serves as a border between Boston and neighboring Brookline. Dual-hopped with two favorites from the Pacific Northwest, Citra and Mosaic each display their distinct tropical traits. We taste orange sherbet, meyer lemon, and juicy peach. A gentle sweetness that never nears cloying is embraced by a refined bitterness rounding out each sip. NANAIMO @beauregard_micro Un dessert quelqu’un? Ou devrais-je dire, un dessert liquide quelqu’un? Je me souviens encore des barres Nanaimo que j’achetais chez M&M. Le goût de noix de coco. L’enrobage chocolaté. C’est à peu prêt ça qu’on a ici. Bon je n’ai plus l’habitude d’acheter ces barres mais l’instant de quelques gorgées ça m’a rappelé ce temps pas si lointain où j’en achetais fréquemment. Titrant autour de 8% ce n’est rien de trop lourd même que je l’aurais pris un peu plus élevé en alcool pour que ce soit plus chaleureux et pour avoir davantage de texture liquoreuse. Présentée dans un format de 355ml, ça se partage très bien à deux personnes. Description de la brasserie: À tous les amateurs de plaisirs sucrés, voici notre stout dessert inspiré des barres Nanaimo. La base maltée apporte des saveurs de chocolat et de céréales et la bière a été conditionnée sur biscuits Graham, noix de coco rôtie, gruée de cacao et gousses de vanille pour encore plus de gourmandise. Unfortunately, @finbackbrewery doesn’t make it into my fridge anywhere near as often as it used to. But then again, the scarcity has reintroduced a bit of magic every time I get my hands on one. The thing that has always drawn me to Finback haze is the colour. The luminosity. You see shades of yellow that I’m not sure even exist in nature.
