新体操と一輪車は日本のかたたちがパフォーマーとして出演されていて
シンクロした動き、ダイナミックなパフォーマンスに鳥肌がとまりませんでした😭✨

It’s been an extremely busy week for me, so I have been absent from IG. Many of us followed Hurricane Idalia. It steered away from Disney World, but in doing so, it headed to my hometown of Madison, Florida. The eye passed over the home of my Mother. I called her Tuesday morning offering to make the drive to get her and bring her to Central Florida. She declined the first call, but called me after lunch on Tuesday asking if the offer still stood. It did.
Her home survived with very minimal damage. She is one of the lucky ones. My entire home county was without power, including her home. The outlook is two to three weeks before her home receives power again. We made the trip to her home and back again on Friday to assess damage and connect generators.
But we have to make lemonade out of the lemons life hands us. So last night I treated her to a show I have wanted to share with her since it opened. My Mom is the one that instilled in me a love and deep appreciation for music and the arts. I have talked to her about carving out time to share Drawn To Life with her. This collaboration between Cirque Du Soleil and Disney Animation tells the story of young Julie and the impact her father, an animator, had on her life. It’s the story of family and the Magic of Disney and Cirque.
And it was Magical seeing my Mom try and keep up with all the action. It was even more magical hearing her re-live the show and each act on our short ride to my home.
Thank you Cirque and Disney Animation. And thank you Disney for the constant reminder of the importance of Family.

We had a great time at our 5-Day/4-Night Disney World 'Staycation' with my parents. Meaning we didn't go into the theme parks. And, no, we never ran out of things to do.
We stayed at #AnimalKingdomVillas - #KadaniVillage in a Two Bedroom Villa. It was incredibly spacious! During our vacation, we hit the pool (a lot), did crafts in the Community Hall, saw @cirquedusoleil #DrawntoLife, splashed around at #TyphoonLagoon, and shopped in @disneysprings. Most importantly, we dined at Maji Pool Bar, #Boma, The Mara, Jock Lindsey' Hanger Bar, @homecominfl, Chef Mickey's, and even ordered #Sanaa to-go for a quiet night in. We also enjoyed multiple trips to Swirls on the Water and Goofy's Candy Company.
Big shout out to @erinmckennasbakery and all the eateries for being so kind and informative to our allergy requests. It truly helps @bright0nupyourlife keep his food anxiety at bay. Being welcomed to speak with the chefs is such a relief to us all. And an extra big shout out to Leaning Palms in Typhoon Lagoon.
To wrap up the trip, we enjoyed bottomless cocktails and desserts at Top of the World Lounge – A Villains Lair atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort overlooking Magic Kingdom and their Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks.
Even though we didn't go into the theme parks, we had plenty of Disney Magic! We even missed a TON of activities just at the resort - Movie Under the Stars, Usiku Glow Party, marshmallows at the Campfire, the arcade(s), swimming at Jambo House, the Starlight Safari, the playground, and so much more! We would absolutely do a Disney 'staycation' again.

these last few months i have been filling sketchbook after sketchbook 📚
what do you fill your sketchbook with?
for me, mine is filled with gestures, observational sketches, studies (film, artist 'master copies', anatomy, etc). oh and LOTS of cats, haha 😺
lately, im trying to harness my creative muscles more by starting a drawing with a simple idea - attempting to hold essential elements of keeping figures in place while mentally multitasking a storyline into a quick sketch. how does the image make me feel?
oftentimes, as i go about my day i see interesting "story moments", take a mental snapshot, and then reach for a sketchbook before my eyes jumble the image with new information. this way i can get the poses down, while really emphasizing a story/emotion/feeling with the pose as best as i can.
a lot of this is directly learned stuff from Walt Stanchfield's Drawn to Life. i highly recommend!!

If you are ever at Disney Springs, I highly recommend going to go see Cirque du Soleil Drawn to Life. It brings together classic animation and storytelling with phenomenal Cirque du Soleil performers. It simply breathtaking! Pretty sure my jaw was on the floor the entire show 🥰🥰
