Along Upper Bukit Timah Road, stand three shopping centres in a row. These are Bukit Timah Shopping Centre, Beauty World Centre, and Beauty World Plaza. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The name Beauty World was not coined up on a whim, but in fact, was named after what once stood directly opposite these three shopping centres. Beauty World was built in 1947, but the story of the place goes further back. Before the war, the area was simply rural land, occupied by a few attap houses and plantations. During the war, the place was in need of rebuilding due to the damage, and two enterprising businessmen got permission to set up Dai Dong Ah Sai Gai Amusement Park (translated from Cantonese as Greater East Asia World). However, after the war, the amusement park went into disrepair, and the then proprietor got permission to convert it into a market place. That was how Beauty World Market came about in 1947. Because of its prior existence as an amusement park, the name Beauty World was chosen, in reference to said past existence. Смелый фасад из изогнутых модулей из ПВС-сетки расположен среди старинных зданий Георгианского периода на одной из центральных улиц. Авторы взяли за основу фактуру театрального занавеса и создали объем за счет использования различной ширины соседних секций. Дополнительная особенность — игра света в зависимости от времени суток и погоды. Создатели этого офисного здания в городе Креморн действительно хорошо потрудились. В Австралии непростые климатические условия, но этот объект готов к ним на 100%. Благодаря функциональному фасаду из просечно-вытяжной сетки, который адаптируется к погоде и времени суток и открывает и закрывает часть секций.
