Foodie Friday: Cookie Edition When visiting Walt Disney World, a visit to Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs is a must! While their cookies are amazing, you cannot go wrong with their peanut butter cold brew! 🚨 Hot Tip: Gideon’s can often have a long line and at most times they are using a virtual queue, but we were told by some of the staff that mid week in the evenings, they tend to die down a little. A Darker Shade of Magic by @veschwab ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 I had high expectations for this fantasy, and the book absolutely delivered! I am happy to welcome Kell into my club of book boyfriends (Schwab can talk about his auburn hair all day long, but in my brain he’s tall, dark, and tortured). It took me a little while to warm up to Lila, but I ended up really liking her! I absolutely fell in love with this world and thought it was developed really well - this universe is really developed (I’m a sucker for any book that invents a language) but somehow avoids that information onslaught that often takes place during the first book of a series. I went back and forth between reading and listening to chapters, and I figured out that my initial dislike of Lila had a lot to do with my dislike of the narrator’s portrayal (this was the Steven Crossley narration). She came off almost as comic relief in the audio version instead of the deadly badass she clearly was meant to be in the story. I’ve already started the next in this series and am loving it! I honestly have no idea where this overarching story is going, and I have a feeling my heart is going to get shredded at some point, but I am here for it!

*Vacation recap part 2* Today was our resort day and had tickets to Epcot after hours in the evening. We started off with a phenomenal breakfast at Ale and Compass with dark chocolate waffles. I snuck off and headed over to Disney Springs to find the cupcake ATM at sprinkles, grab some cookies from Gideons, and meet up with coworkers for a delicious lunch at the Boathouse. The family stayed back and enjoy the pool. Later that evening, the four of us headed over to Epcot for the after hours party. There is popcorn, soda, water, and ice cream included with the ticket. Also chip and dale are having a dance party all night with music played throughout the park. Guardians of the Galaxy was definitely the favorite ride at the vacation. Epcot is very large, so we borrowed my mother-in-law‘s scooter for the night. This was great to use when coming back after midnight. Today was a Gideon’s Bakehouse kind of day on our last day of staycation. Sam went to Disney Springs and there was only a ten minute walk up line! So she scored this month’s Limited Edition Cookies and cake slices. She got us the Orange Pecan Chocolate Cake, Lemon Crumb Cake, Orange Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookie, Lemon Poppy Crumb Cookie, and our favorite, the Banana Bread Chocolate Chip Cookie!
