my take on the mary situation ⬇️ the most recent interview that mary gave says that she'd been meticulously caring for every detail of the house, even while freddie was alive. regardless of the fans' personal opinions of her, freddie trusted her with his beloved house. she understands the weight of what she's doing, and has obviously been contemplating doing this for some time. i know she doesn't live in garden lodge but a lot of her life is obviously dedicated to its upkeep. she knows the house well. she's given it what it deserves. i think turning freddie's sanctuary into a museum would be counterproductive. the snapshots into his life is obviously a huge treat for all us fans, but i think we have to be reminded that they don't owe us anything. we can stand to give freddie some posthumous privacy. the article also talks a bit about how freddie frequently attended auctions, and how much he appreciated the act, and i'm sure his items bring others that same appreciation. brian, roger, and john are unlikely to buy it all back, even though they too have items of freddie's. they all have estates of their own and things to manage. mary has a life outside of managing freddie's legacy. her children are grown and can't/won't take on the responsibility. freddie's family is too far removed from the entire process to really do anything, and kash is the only one left. she can't be expected to uproot her life just because her dead brother's ex-girlfriend has decided to move on from an estate she's maintained for 30 years. mary knows all these things and realistically this is the best course of action. it's the best way to ensure that freddie's legacy does carry on besides his music. i doubt anyone who buys freddie's things will stuff them in the back of a closet, left to collect dust. they know what they're purchasing. #queen #queenband #queenbandedits #queenbandedit #bohemianrhapsody #johndeaconqueen #johndeaconedit #johndeaconedits #johndeacon #johndeacon80s #johndeacon90s #johnricharddeacon #johndeaconbass #johndeacon70s #deacury #deacuryislove #johndeaconmemes #johndeaconqueen #brianmay #brianmayedit #brianmayedits
