🦆 【 𝐉𝐮𝐪𝐢 局氣 】 - - - - - - - - - - ✿ Signature Pecking Duck (Whole) $109 This mouthwatering masterpiece of a duck is served 3 ways and displayed in an exquisite jewellery box. The whole duck is smaller than I thought (as I’m used to eating larger duck back in Hong Kong haha), but it’s perfect to share amongst 2 people. The skin is cut into squares, served on toast with cavier. Sadly the toast is a bit stale, and the cavier is quite unnecessary as it doesn’t add much to the flavour, but it does look very pretty!! The rest of the duck is sliced into 2 platters. The duck skin is so crispy with fat that melts in your mouth, and the meat is tender 😋 You wrap the duck meat with pancake that is thin and warm, along with assorted condiments: a sweet dark source, cucumber, spring onion, honeydrew and sugar (unconventional, but it works). Flavour wise, it’s not the best I have had (as compared to HK) but arguably one of the best in NYC. For the duck rack, you can choose either duck soup, spicy fried duck rack, or salt & pepper duck rack. We picked the soup, it tastes good but where are the remaining duck meat?? They passed the strict requirements on dough prep, ingredients used, the way it’s cooked etc, so it’s almost guaranteed to be authentic, and I can verify that yes this place is legit! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ✿ Margherita Rossa $18 (+ Spicy Salame $4) The outer ring is nicely puffed up with the right amount of char, even got a bit of a crisp to it. Staff originally made my drink in a take out cup, per request they made me another one with a glass cup as I’m dinning in. I think this is the spiciest dish of all 3, as a spicy lover I’m pretty satisfied! Altho it is soaked in chilli oil, I don’t find it that greasy, maybe because it is a very aromatic, flavourful chilli oil, adds great flavour to the fish and vegetables. 🍦 【 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐞𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 】 This ice cream shop legit surprised me with their wide variety of Asian inspired flavours! 味道充滿驚喜的韓系雪糕店！ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ✿ Large / 3 Flavours $8.95 The staff was super nice and attentive. They saw us struggling and recommended a bunch of flavours for us to try. We really liked Nurungji (toasted rice), Guava, Mochi Injeolmi (soybean) and so that’s what we got. The Nurungji is my favourite. It has a more creamy texture, really love the nutty, roasted flavour. Mochi Injeolmi has a similar texture, and also have a roasted flavour but it’s slightly richer and stronger because it’s soybean instead of rice. These two flavours go really well with each other. Guava has more of a sorbet like texture, it’s really refreshing & fruity. We also sample some really good flavours, like the rice alcohol (forgot the proper name for it...), kaya coconut, miso caramel, thai basil pineapple. None of the flavours we tried are overly sweet (yes we Asians love that!). 🍰 【 𝐋𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐚 】 ✿ Pumpkin Tart $8 Sad to report that I am not a big fan of this tart… I’m not impressed by the flavours, and it’s got a soggy bottom 😭 The tart base is very soft and wet, syrups are leaking out, it was really disappointing as I know they do a mean tart case based on what I had in the past. I’m glad there are pumpkin seeds, so there are still crunchy elements! The cranberry compote is refreshing but it overpowered the flavour of the pumpkin ganache. Whilst the kabocha squash mousse is wonderfully light and airy, almost foam like, the flavour is very delicate and barely noticeable. If you are expecting a pumpkin flavour tart, you will be disappointed by this. I’d say it will make a pretty good cranberry tart though (minus the soggy bottom). I don’t think what I’m getting is worth this price. It’s a nice duck breast alright, but there are room for improvement. Overall, it’s very well seasoned and flavoured. The meat has a slightly pink centre and it is quite juicy and tender. However, the duck skin is not really crispy, it is quite chewy and tough to eat which is disappointing.
The fries are well seasoned, but some of them were a little soggy! It came with a bearnaise sauce which is rich, creamy and tangy, great to eat with the fries. 看上去很好吃，可是吃下去就很失望，敗在那個要嚼半天的皮！

It’s a Hokkien / Teochew dish. My dad’s family was originally from Hokkien, so I grew up eating this. The fried beancurd sheet is so crispy, and the meat filling is quite juicy and well flavoured. The sweet chili sauce balanced out the greasiness. It’s a very good authentic snack! 炸得很香脆不油膩，肉餡豐富，加上酸酸甜甜的醬汁之後更好吃！

✿ Kaya Butter Toast $7.5 It’s a very good kaya butter toast! The thick white soft bread is toasted to golden brown perfection and filled with generous spread of kaya and salted butter. The kaya jam is not overly sweet, and you can really taste the pandan & coconut milk. The salted butter added a savoury taste, balancing out some of the sweetness and enhanced the overall flavour.
When you bite into the toast, the toasted crispiness on the outside contrasts with the bread’s softness inside and the oozing kaya jam (perhaps a bit too runny comparing to what you would see in Singapore/Malaysia), it’s very enjoyable. 雖然咖央醬有點稀，質感還是挺順滑的。椰漿和斑蘭的味道配上咸咸的牛油和脆脆的吐司，好吃！

I genuinely enjoyed this noodle! The noodle tasted like Indomie (one of my fav Indonesian instant noodle), cooked to al dente and quite springy. The sauce is very creamy, the strong pepper added a really nice kick, and the thai basil complete the flavour profile with its unique flavour. The lobster tasted fresh too. Nonetheless, the katsu is perfectly thin, fried to crispy and doesn’t taste oily at all! Pork is the perfect pink, however it’s surprisingly tough and difficult to chew. I expect it to be tender since it’s slow cooked to the perfect temperature, and it did looked juicy. Plus this is loin (ロース) it shouldn’t be so tough. I’m disappointed, I had high hopes. These pan fried dumplings are not the typical shanghai pan fried pork buns with soup inside (生煎包). They are normal steamed buns that are pan fried. Nonetheless, the bun is soft and fluffy, you can taste the wheat with a mildly sweet undernote. The juicy filling is enough for you to get the pork almost every bite. The bottom is not crispy, as they most likely pan fry it after steaming. Overall, it’s an average bun, but it is so good value! 蒸出來再煎的，所以底不脆。可是包體鬆軟帶甜，肉餡多汁。重點是真的超划算！ ⤷ Rating: 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑 ✿ Wheat Noodle w/ Peanut Butter sauce $3 Can you believe this noodle only cost $3??
