Pod We are ringing in 2020 by ending a muchhhhh longer than anticipated hiatus! We'd love to hear about any new places yall have tried! As for us, we decided to hit up Pod for some much needed Friday night sushi. With the cool futuristic look (with actual pods- make sure to get your resos in!) and so many different sushis, we think we might have found our new sushi spot! Vegetarian friends they were accommodating in making veggie sushi that we asked for. The vegan option on the menu is delish too! Down the street from the Philadelphia Zoo, @hopsbrewerytown has been a wonderful addition to Brewerytown’s 31st Street. Cava Finally got to try their new location in Rittenhouse! It's basically bougie Chipotle that can be appreciated by all healthy eating fanatics and tastes great! Assembly rooftop The perfect setup! A rooftop with a view that overlooks the art museum while you relax by the firepit and sip your drink. The cocktails were well made and the cheese platter while basic was enjoyable. CoZara Low key and delicious! Came here for lunch to satisfy our sushi cravings. 🍣🍥 They were sadly out of avocados- cue all insecurities. But that did not seem to matter, everything was fantastic! @elpoquitocantina was SUCH a cute find!!! The food was amazing & the restaurant has an awesome vibe with a pretty legit sized bar. We went when it was kinda cold out but def need to go back so we can enjoy their fun outside seating!!! 🇲🇽! Talula's Garden Summer time is the best time to go here, especially with outdoor seating and the garden decor. To my surprise I really enjoyed my winter experience here too! Sure we were not sitting under a canopy of fairy lights this time of year but the service and food were excellent and something I continue to go back for!! Karma Who else is ready for the weekend?? If you have some time and are craving some masala check out Karma. Food was pretty creamy but it was my cheat day so that's ok. Bourse Food Hall Happy gal/guy/valentine's day everyone! We decided to hold our galentine's day celebration at Bourse Food Hall which we've been meaning to try for AGES. It was worth the wait!! Louie’s Little Hut From the Main Street this adorable eatery requires you to take a winding path. The food is DELICIOUS. Don’t underestimate salt and vinegar tater tots. Buddakan Reminder to take advantage of the discounted restaurants at Center City restaurant week! (Jan 13-25). We decided to check it out at Buddakan. The food was rich in every bite and the dessert and decor were probably my favorite part. It was very loud and vibrant so not your place for a quiet dining experience. Lucha Cartel Hope everyone had a great holiday season! I think Lucha Cartel was on my mind today in reminiscing the summer vibes and patio nights with Old City views at this restaurant. The inside is decorated with the theme of Día de Muertos. Overall a cute place to get your Mexican food cravings at, especially in the summer. They have lots of events and dancing as well at night! Mac Mart We are back from vacay and missing the sunshine! The food scene in Miami and Key West was on a whole other level, which I'm sure you noticed from our story. Hit us up if you need any recs! In the meanwhile today's post is all about the much needed comfort food for the holiday season. For all mac and cheese lovers Mac Mart is mac and cheese HEAVEN! Yes it's real, an entire store dedicated to mac and cheese of all different flavors. Wish it was warmed up a bit better tbh but the cheese game was strong regardless! In keeping in mind the theme of today we'll be throwing back to the time we had a feast of our own at Heritage. If you are looking for a quiet night out Heritage is NOT the place. We are talking loud, vibrant and often with live jazz! 🎺🎻♬ Overall a fun place with classy American food. Sabrina's Cafe In Sabrina's Cafe we found the perfect place for a comforting brunch on a pouring Sunday morning. Everything was delicious but Jackie and I could not get enough of the tots! Every location has its own vibe. The university city manages to be cozy despite how busy it is and well decorated. The art museum location is byob if you feel like kicking your morning off with mimosas. We haven't checked out the other locations yet but the verdict as of now is that we highly recommend!! El Merkury Another recommendation from our friend @likelimabeans! It’s Mexican street food that you don’t have to eat on the street! They have CHURROS! All kinds of churros!!! Double Knot A wise person told me while dining here "you can't go wrong with anything on the menu". That was also confirmed with the food! Pitruco Delicious pizza hot off a wood burning oven... in a food truck! They now have a second location at Franklin's Table but let's be real, food trucks are so much more fun!
