Alone in a crowded room π» . . Iβve been battling with a lot of loneliness in the last year. Itβs a tough thing to admit, but really is hard. I think Iβve learned that as you get older, people arenβt meant to stay with you forever, perhaps not in the way you originally thought. It changes, people move on, forget you or donβt remember you anymore. I guess Iβve just learned to make friends with my solitude, to feel content in my introverted ways, do my work, read, write, just be. But one thing Iβve really battled with for a long time is feeling more alone whenever Iβm in a crowded place. Thereβs a certain emptiness that overcomes me when I see others having fun with their friends, with their partners. And sometimes it also comes when I have been invited somewhere and canβt connect with anyone. I try my best to talk, but know no one wants to listen, so I choose to stay alone and watch. Perhaps Iβm not the fun type to drink, party and be loud, so Iβd rather not get in the way. I know itβs difficult to get along with someone like me. To feel like a burden when I canβt be different to who I am. Itβs a difficult battle to deal with. To want to be included, to want to be with others, but also realising Iβm not the typical person people want to associate with. Many people will only turn to me when they need someone to listen. That, I am always willing to offer. So Iβll stay, pretty as a wallflower, until someone chooses to notice me. How lonely it can be, standing in the corners of a crowded room. π P.s. on a side note, as a wallflower for most of my life, I canβt wait for Bridgerton Season 3 next month.
