LYRICS OF THE WEEK #22 – SIMPLE HARMONY This is the first track off "Golden State" and it's about moving forward and enjoying the journey no matter what the destination is: and by “the end of the show”, we may not be alone. The delightful and funny video for this song was shot back in February 2020 just before the Covid-19 outbreak. “Back then, when we were all indoors, this video brought a sense of freedom, to be outside, hugging and high-fiving in the streets”. Josh and Ben commented like this: JR: “It’s a kind of a document of what was and what hopefully will be again.” BL: “It reminds us of simpler times before the coronavirus. It’s nostalgia for nostalgia.” Initially the video was supposed to be directed by Josh Radnor but the direction was entrusted to Sam Fragoso, who decided on a retro idea in the style of ‘70s cinema, Super 8. As suggested by Radnor and Lee, I listened to this song on my recent trip to the USA, driving through those beautiful landscapes with the windows down. It was great! 🚮 Hace un par de días nos levantamos con la noticia sobre la cancelación de la fallida "Como conocí a tu padre". Y si, digo fallida porque está serie, en su afán por distanciarse de su hermana mayor y adquirir su propia identidad, repudió y se alejó de esa magia que hizo de "Como conocí a vuestra madre" una serie inolvidable porque, por mucho que se esforzara, en ningún momento nos encariñamos con Sophie de la misma manera que lo hicimos con Ted Mosby, ninguna pareja desprendía la misma química que si lo hacía Lilly y Marshall y lo más importante: la serie era tan políticamente correcta (esto lo estoy diciendo mientras sufro de arcadas) que en ningún momento un personaje como Barney (o similar) podría haber tenido cabida. Y esto, señoras y señores es lo realmente triste. Lamentablemente, vivimos en una sociedad donde la etiqueta de lo políticamente correcto es capaz de lastrar cualquier manifestación artística. 😬 Se que este post ha sido menos amable de lo que suelo publicar, así que ahí va un dato curioso😉 💬 ¿Sabías que...? 🎬 Antes de la version de "Como conocí a tu padre" protagonizada por Hillary Duff, hubo otra sobre la mesa. Los encargados de sacarla adelante no serían otros que los propios Carter Bays y Craig Thomas, los "showrunners" de la serie protagonizada por Josh Radnor, quienes junto a Emily Spivey llegaron a rodar un piloto en 2014 que protagonizó la mismísima Greta Gerwig. En él, la directora de "Barbie" recogía el testigo de Ted Mosby para convertirse en Sally, una mujer que le explicaría a su descendencia cómo conoció a su padre y cuya voz del futuro sería prestada por la mismísima Meg Ryan.
