It means that this person has validated you and your feelings about what constituted abuse in your eyes. In order for this to happen it requires the biggest step and that’s repentance.<br />1. Acknowledge the widespread and extensive damage done to the victim and demonstrate remorse for the harm done.<br />2. Take full responsibility for the abuse by confessing.<br />3. Establish new boundaries that demonstrate respect for the victim and help ensure that the abuse will not reoccur.<br />4. Take active steps to change the sinful pattern of behavior that led to the abuse.<br />5. Make restitution to the victim. ———-<br />“Just as forgiveness isn’t cheap, repentance isn’t cheap. Repentance isn’t just being sorry we got caught. Repentance is learning from our mistakes. Repentance is walking a mile in the shoes of the one we’ve wounded.
