Christmas cactus have large tubular flowers that open at the onset of winters. The blooms are rich in nectar and adapted for pollination by hummingbirds! (Wow?) An interesting fact: the plant needs shade & moist conditions unlike usual cacti!! Mine is a tiny cutting from my neighbour which unexpectedly & pleasantly developed a healthy bud!
