This was a special moment for me, not because I was on the rapids but because of the giggles I could hear coming from Betsy and the words “mummy I’m having so much fun”.

I’m not the most spontaneous person. I like order. I like lists. I like routine. One of my friends once told me I like organised fun and actually she’s so damn right. I plan, I like to know what’s going on. But this moment, this right here was spontaneous and she loved it.

One of my goals this year was not to sweat the small stuff. I’m trying every damn day.... I’m far from bloody perfect or good at it but I do try because it’s so important to be present for your kids.
