#177 - Houses of Parliament, 2017.
I was shooting a day to night shot here on my main camera but because of the six hour capture time for it, you won’t necessarily see much colour action once that’s been pushed down to ten seconds (or whatever length you deliver your shots at). When I say colour action, I’m referring to the pinks / oranges / reds you’ll get just after the sun has set and is bouncing off the cloud above.
Sometimes it can last a while and other times it doesn’t even appear. Even if it did last a while, it’s only a small portion of your day to night shot so unless you’re aiming for a very long final edited shot, you’re not going to see much of it.
This is where a second camera comes in handy and also gives your editor a couple of options or the chance to cut between shots.
On this occasion, however, it had fizzled out rather quickly. Still, I’ll always set one up just in case. You win some you lose some I guess!
