#ThisPicture means so much to me because I think it sums up this sometimes #mystical life y’all ask about. When incredible young folx like @kelseyreynolds1 Rock up to @headlandsarts with 2 tinies from the 7th Ward & an adult squad 3 deep!? ... How does it happen!? How do I get to be a traveling artist, have kids, have fun, dip for months ata time, etc? Well - #itsavillage and i think it’s important to highlight how much time goes into premeditated #kindness, #sharing, #building, #creating unfamiliar territory. It’s asking for help, it’s offering help, it’s doing the thankless, and thanking those who also also do it. Its loosing my cool and yelling sometimes. Its an investment in unseen territory. It’s believing another world is possible. It’s spending time and resources on kids “that aren’t yours”- it’s sharing. Its sharing. Its SHARING. I’m not suggesting it’s easy, but the exhaustion is laced with a #robustlove that I’m not sure I’ve experienced through other familial models and I’m grateful. #TryIt
