It's World Lizard Day! To celebrate, here's a lizard you may not have seen around in Singapore before.
This is the Brown Anole (pronounced "uh-no-lee", not "eh-nole"), and it's a male! You can tell from it's throat flap in the last picture, which it uses to attract a female.
Brown anoles are very small - I was expecting a Changeable Lizard size when I went out hunting for them, but instead this one was barely the length of my ring finger.
As you'll see in the next post, these lizards are highly variable in terms of colour and patterns.
