Movie of the week: Thelma
Thelma has moved to Oslo to study, but she gets a seizure at school. A fellow student named Anja helps her and they get to know eachother. They realize that the seizure is not what they thought it would be. Thelma is a excellent norwegian thriller with elements of drama, horror and romance. It doesn’t use big words and the symbolisism is perfectly tangeled in the movie. Thelma has got some really intense scenes where you hold your breath. Eili Harboe in the leading role is excellent and manages to show the many nuances of Thelma and how she is dragged in different directions. This movie is as good as any Hollywood thriller, just way more original.
