Movie of the week: Wild
Cheryl’s mother died, her husband has left her and she has a serious drinking problem. She decides to walk the Pacific Crest Trail to think and try to fix her life. This is a 4270km trip from the Mexican-border in the south to the Canadian-border in the north. The endresult of making a movie about a hikingtrip can easily be boring, but Wild is truly amazing. Reese Witherspoon as Cheryl and Laura Dern as her mother are the main reason for that, but the way it is directed is also brilliant. Throughout the movie we get short flashbacks from her life which give us a better understanding about Cheryl. The way it is shot and the mood presented makes us feel like we walk the trail along with her. If you liked this movie I would also recommend a movie called Into the Wild.
