Yesterday we hosted our first #flowersfromthefarm #flowerfarmersbigweekend where we had a wonderful turn out from people far and wide,one couple had driven from London to us.
The response was fantastic from people visiting at one stage we were running out of parking places,people were so lovely with there comments, we had set up a area for tea and cake,we raised £100 for charity by selling bunches of flowers and teas.
You always worry that people will expect to see a pristine plot weed free with perfect flowers we had the decision to not remove all the plants that had gone over as some still showed flowers and as we all know it is a almost impossible task sometimes to keep up with your plot,sometimes there’s never enough hours in the day to do it all when you have 1 acre to keep tidy.
One thing I found is now I have done I enjoyed it so much so the next meeting with the church flowers ladies is going to be here!
Once the gates closed and we tidied up it was back to work cutting the Strawflowers and statice for drying we are luck that we have a large polytunnel to dry them in.
