Star and Sylvia (before she is turned into a unicorn in less than ideal circumstances). Honestly, I don’t 100% like this one. I mean, it is adorable and so sweet, but I need to work on a style that is more befitting of the book, which is dynamic, dark, and violent.

I think I’ve been doing cutesy drawings because it’s a good mood lifter, watercolor fits it perfectly, and honestly I have a 5 year old girl and drawing unicorns running around with human shish-kabobs on their heads would raise a lot of questions.

But I need to get back to drawing how I used too. It was easier when I could do digital art.
