This little desk is finally complete! Found for $25 on Facebook Marketplace, I think the paint cost more than the desk did. šŸ˜® My husband and I are both starting graduate school this semester, so I wanted us to have a study area that isnā€™t the couch šŸ˜‚ I knew I wanted this desk to look at little ā€œdistressed,ā€ which is something I have never done before. High gloss paint tends to stay sticky for weeks afterwards, and I didnā€™t want books and laptops sticking to the surface and making marks in the paint. I chose this black/blue/purple color because I wanted a dark piece to anchor down this gigantic bright bonus room (and Iā€™m tired of navy paint)! After sanding the surface and filling in missing chips with wood filler, I did not prime. I used one coat of oil based satin enamel, and scuffed the edges up with a very low grit sand paper to give it a worn look. What do you think? Swipe for where I started! šŸ‘‰šŸ¼
