Isabel Castro met Darlin last year, outside a detention facility in Texas, when she volunteered to give Darlin a ride once she’d been released. Darlin was alone — without Hamilthon, her son, or her partner, Jefry. During that drive after Darlin's release, Isabel knew she had to make a film about her.
