This pic popped up on my #facebookmemories yesterday. It was from our first family trip to Disney 4 years ago. I was 7 1/2 months into a #highriskpregnancy + my entire life as I’d known it was changing. Not just one door was closing. Many of them were.

Friendships.
Roles at school.
#momof2life.
And more.

I never felt more uncertain, more lacking in confidence, more “woe is me” than I had in my whole life. What I didn’t let myself see—the martyrdom was too easy—was that these were my doors. It was up to me to open them back up.

Some were easier to unlock than others, while some took time, effort, + #selfreflection. First, though, I had to own my part in closing these doors. I also had to come to the realization that some were meant to stay closed. That’s ok! It’s been a journey of #selfdiscovery, a journey this trip set in motion. ✌🏻

I continue to find old doors closing, some reopening, + new ones to venture through. Knowing each one is meant for me + that I have some say in this has made all the difference. Adopt a #growthmindset + experience how your life changes. 🚪💯
