I did everything right and never made a mistake. <br />The terms of the job were such that at the end of the 6-month duration; my manager was to pick one out of 3 of us for a more long term role. You would think they would choose me, the most efficient candidate right? They chose Michelle. Michelle was not the best of the three of us and it was no secret. But while I had spent the last 6-months working my a$$ off, Michelle had built a relationship with our manager. They had connected on so many fronts and had even started to have dinner after work. Their relationship was so good that they were planning a trip to Asia for the summer.<br />.<br />.<br />A hiring manager will most likely pick the average candidate that he likes over the rockstar candidate that he cannot relate to.
