Happy Friday! I have a cool story for y’all today. This cycad on the Isle of Wight produced both male and female cones, according to @cnn. Cycads are rare and special plants that don’t usually grow in cooler places. South Africa has a database of each of their cycads so that they can know when people move them out of the country illegally. The cycad lineage is ancient and the last time one produced both male and female cones in the UK was 60 million years ago. This is because climate change has made the country much warmer this year, which makes this news scary as well as cool.
