Starting back at 1️⃣ mile! My lungs, calves & throat were burning, my boobs were bouncing🤪, but it was so nice to be out there!

➡️How did I know I was ready to start running again?
🔹I’ll be 6 weeks post partum on Monday, but my follow up OB appt was at 4 weeks & she cleared me for exercise then but I waited a little longer until I was done spotting which was just this last week.
🔹My blood pressure has been elevated since baby which is not normal for me - I figured it out because I had a bad headache that wouldn’t go away w/ meds at 2 weeks post partum so I took my BP & it was high which can be a concern because of part partum preeclampsia, so my dr has me on low dose BP meds & encouraged me to start exercising to get my BP back down to normal.
🔹I’m ready to do something for ME and have a little me time - even if it’s only for a short time period - I know I will feel the benefits of this run all day!
🔹Every time I woke up to nurse last night (3x, can’t complain) I thought about going for a run & it made me happy!
🔹I have a referral to see a pelvic floor therapist & plan to go ASAP to check everything down there & get some exercises to ensure I regain full strength & alignment! (Be proud @pelvicpotential)

I’ll start slow and take baby steps and listen to my body most of all, but am glad to start running again! For anyone else coming back post baby — make sure your dr clears you to run — but also that YOU are ready! There is absolutely no rush! 😊🤗
