Brightburn is a 2019 American superhero horror film directed by David Yarovesky and produced by James Gunn and Kenneth Huang. It stars Elizabeth Banks, David Denman and Jackson A. Dunn, and follows a young alien boy raised on Earth who realizes he has superpowers, soon using them to terrorize his town.
I'm quite confused as to why this is described as a superhero horror flick, I mean the boy is simply evil donning a cape! It was like watching the origins of Superman turning bad in an alternate universe!
The movie isn't that bad, in fact I like it's horror elements. I just hated the fact that the boy has no remorse and ended up killing his family, who does that? Im curious if a sequel is greenlit, I'm definitely looking forward as to what he does next, if he continues to be bad, who will fight him?
