FAVORITE MOVIES FROM EACH YEAR
•
2009:
•
- Inglorious Basterds
- Avatar
- Fantastic Mr. Fox
- Up
- Moon
- Watchmen
- 500 Days of Summer
- Zombieland

10 years ago we got a series of great movies. Starting off is a film I consider one of the greatest movies ever made. It’s called Inglorious Basterds and it’s by a guy named Quentin Tarantino. There are many people that think this is his greatest work to date and I don’t blame them. There is so much to say. The opening scene, the insane ending, the final line (which sums up the movie entirely), and the script is just a few things to point out from this masterpiece. Now, Avatar is one that I honestly don’t care to talk about but one I think is worth mentioning because of the technicalities. This was such a hard film to make and you can tell. It takes place in box office history as a monumental feat in history but nothing else to say other than how it looks. The next two entrys are two of the greatest animated films I've seen. Fantastic Mr. Fox is a stop motion Wes Anderson film that is visually stunning, has amazing voice acting by an incredible ensamble, full of humor, and is the most Wes Anderson film Wes Anderson has made if that makes any sense. Easily one of my favorites. Next is Up, a movie that Pixar pulled all of our heart strings with. A brilliant film from start to finish and a remarkable love story that I feel like would hit differently when I watch it with a wife and children one day. Next is a movie that I saw once and ended up enjoying which is Moon. A film carried by an awesome performance by Sam Rockwell, a cool concept, and the poster for Moon is insane. Then there’s an underrated superhero flick by Zack Snyder, Watchmen. His direction is something special. The opening credits, the pacing, the visuals, and the dark story telling makes Watchmen a delightful watch that I recommend. Now here’s the thing. I saw this movie at a very specific point in my life that effected me heavily so this is honestly one of my favorite movies to come out in the ‘00s. 500 Days of Summer is one of the best rom-coms I have seen and speaks the truth about heartbreak and how one deals with so.

CONTINUED IN COMMENTS
