In November 1995, I spent 8 days in a juvenile mental facility, diagnosed w major depression after a suicide attempt.
In December 1995, a boy I thought was my cousin raped and impregnated me.
In August 1996, I kicked off my high school senior year in the hospital becoming a mother at just 17 years old.
In September 1996, while suffering from post partum depression, I almost killed my son.
But this is not my story.
It was the start of a journey towards becoming the woman I am today.
A woman whose strength and tenacity wows even me.
My tragedy isn’t my story.
Every fall, every failure, every misstep and every mistake, every success and every achievement are what make up the chapters in my story.
The same goes for you.
As long as you have breath, your pages will forever turn, your actions and thoughts penning the words that will move you forward and speak life into another.
