Picked this film up from one of the last Arrow Video sales, One Eyed Jacks. This film has a very unique and intriguing history, as at one point it was actually going to be directed by Stanley Kubrick, and the screenplay was written by Sam Peckinpah. However, disagreements between the studio, and Brando in different cases, led to their exits from the production. Eventually Brando stepped in to direct the film and modify the existing screenplay. Not the smoothest production would follow, but it is a curious film nevertheless, as Brando's only film he directed. The film was released by Criterion and Arrow respectively, so you have a choice (each have different extras, picked up the Arrow version for the Brando documentary). Its an intriguing and unique sort of Western film, that any fan of the genre, definitely needs to see.
