أول إفتتاح لـ معرض دمشق الدولي كان يوم 2 أيلول عام 1954 ، حيث كان أول معرض دولي يقام في العاصمة السورية دمشق، بحضور حشود جماهيرية غفيرة ووفود مشاركة رسمية وبعثات دبلوماسية بالإضافة إلى فنانون من الشرق والغرب حضروا إلى دمشق خصيصاً لرؤية اختراع " #السينراما " الذي عرض لأول مرة في العالم أمام أكثر من ربع مليون زائر سوري وأجنبي أتوا ليشاهدوا العرض الفريد من نوعه.

The first inauguration of the Damascus International Fair was on September 2, 1954, when the first international exhibition was held in the Syrian capital, Damascus. In the presence of huge public crowds, official participation and diplomats, as well as artists from the East and West came to Damascus specifically to see the invention of the Sinarama, which was first shown in the world in front of more than a quarter of a million Syrian and foreign visitors came to witness the unique show.
