Afternoon Delight in the #Eucalypts

Parking Lola, we set off on foot through yet another type of Eucalyptian forest, following the road towards the Sugarloaf Point Head light.
Yes, I realize you may be sick of me describing #Aussietrees and shrubs, but I have yet to describe the #SCENT of a #eucalyptforest... so I'll do that now.

As we walked along the 1.5km tree-covered road to the #lighthouse, dappled sunshine was strewn about as if through a lace curtain, and the #scentofgumleaves drifted into our consciousness. Mary, Marge? #Breathethatin! Doesn't that smell delicious? What is it coming from... the trees? A flower? What?

There are fragrantly unidentifiable #aromas mixed in to produce a uniquely #Australianforest scent that is #impossibletodescribe to the unsmelling. Let's just say it adds wonderfully to the forest experience, much like the delight white pine, black spruce, or junipers add to camping in the Canadian north; throw in eau d'campfire smoke and a couple of (veggie) dogs roasting on the grill followed by the charred sugar of marshmellows. #Canyousmellit? .....Well, a gum forest smells NOTHING like that, but just as good, Ya know?
