Back when I had waterfront property for a week.
This is what my road looked like before Hurricane Irma... Due to a major hurricane coming at Florida I figured I would share what I learned going through Hurricane Irma.
Do:
🍃Make sure you have battery operated fans in case power is out for weeks. (12 days for us)
🍃Freeze water in bags to have something to keep you cool or your fridge somewhat cool for your drinking water
🍃if you are on a septic make sure you have water to flush toilets. We filled up a dog pool and had it in garage. 🍃If you are boarding up with wood make sure to cut out a peep hole so you can see storm. We stayed in our house while storm took place. It was definitely an experience.
Dont:
🍂After storm clean up..do not clean up if you are allergic to poison ivy and you know it's on your property. Bad idea. See photo...
🍂Dont go into town and fight over gas and food.
Those are just some of my thoughts of going through a hurricane.
Good Luck my fellow Floridians!
