A 14 mile point to point hike. Such incredible landscapes and microclimates, and we hiked almost the first 3.5 hours without seeing a soul. Learned that Haleakalā is not really a crater at all...But it does cast a shadow on the cinder cones...the colors only come out after the sun is fully awake. I’d do this trail under a full moon next! 🌎 Sliding Sands Trail to Halemau’u Trail, Haleakalā National Park, Maui.
