Shark Fin Cove, Central California. Living over a mile above sea level, it's always special when I can get to the ocean. Since I don't always have my choice of timing, I have to take what I get when it comes to weather, cloud cover, and light. Sometimes I get lucky, and a gorgeous sunset happens in a great place! Speaking of lucky, I got this shot after taking a shortcut up a tricky cliff climb up to a vantage point. While climbing a near vertical cliff I had a rock handhold come lose and encountered a nest of insects of some type underneath it. Fortunately I didn't fall, but it was a close call!
