just a happy little henlo and update to all of Lico’s fans! sorry for the blurry and distant video but Lico is still afraid and is pretty much only calm when i’m at this distance.

1. it’s actually a great improvement from past months where he literally wouldn’t stop shivering and staring at me if i was in the same room, even if i was 5 meters away and have been at the same spot for the entire day! he has started to be calm enough to mind his own business when i’m in the room and i can finally go up to his cage without him going into full-blown panic mode if i move very slowly, though he still shivers and prepares to leap away if i make any sudden movements.
2. yesterday was also the first time that he’s stayed on his cage while we cleaned it (see second video), as he would usually panic and run into other rooms to hide until we were done.
3. lastly, he has started to become accustomed to his sister Tama!!! in the past he would panic when Tama landed on his cage and he’d scream if Tama ever came close to entering his cage while he was inside. as seen in the third pic, they’ve finally started to coexist peacefully!

it’s slow progress but we have hope that these are signs that Lico may someday recover from his trauma 🤞🏼
