📕La translucencia nucal es la apariencia sonográfica de una colección de líquido por debajo de la piel de la región posterior del cuello del feto en el primer trimestre del embarazo. 👶🏻Su evaluación forma parte del tamizaje del primer trimestre. La incidencia de anomalías cromosómicas (síndrome de Down, Edwards y Patau) y otras anormalidades están relacionadas con su grosor. Durante el segundo trimestre, la translucencia nucal desaparece, y en pocos casos, evoluciona a edema nucal o higromas quísticos con o sin hidropesia fetal generalizada. 🤰🏻La edad gestacional óptima para su medición es entre las 11 semanas y 13 semanas y 6 días.

📕Nuchal translucency (NT) is the sonographic appearance of a collection of fluid under the skin behind the fetal neck in the first trimester of pregnancy. 👶🏻The evaluation of the NT is part of the 11+0 - 13+6 screening. The incidence of chromosomal and other abnormalities is related to the size. During the second trimester, the translucency usually resolves and, in a few cases, it evolves into either nuchal edema or cystic hygromas with or without generalized hydrops. 🤰🏻The optimal gestational age for measurement of fetal NT is 11+0 to 13+6 weeks.
