It can happen in the form of cutting, burning, head banging, drinking of harmful chemicals, or purposeful bone breaking.<br /><br />Self harm is a common symptom, with 35% of young adults and 15% of teenagers reporting self harm.<br /><br />Often the cause of this is to feel better. Injuries release chemicals from your brain to feel better. Some people report feeling empty and wanting to feel something. Others are over or under stimulated. Some do not know how to express emotion.<br /><br />There is not always a direct correlation between suicide and self harm, often times self harm left untreated could lead to unintentional death from injuries.<br /><br />This is always a warning sign.<br />Of something.<br />Even if someone shrugs it off.<br />Report it.
