It’s our pleasure to share one of the Rodriguez-Torres family’s most coveted pictures of Bella. In this picture, Bella was receiving chemotherapy, she had been made an honorary clown by the therapeutic clown care unit at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Bella asked her godmother Drina and her fellow clowns to please make sure that she had lollipops in her clown scrubs. She did this because she wanted to visit all of her friends at night when they were receiving chemotherapy and had terrible nausea and vomiting because of the treatment. Although Bella was just coming out of paralysis, she would use her walker and would give her friends lollipops so they would have something sweet to put in their mouth after the terrible experience of vomiting. It is in the spirit of service that we continue to Live Like Bella and serve “Bella’s friends”, who are the other children battling cancer🎗
