Your father's favorite action hero is back! Sylvester Stallone delivers another explosive performance as the high octane action hero Rambo. (Spoilers) This time, he's old! Retiring in a farmhouse with his niece and her grandmother. Now this is the first Rambo movie I've ever seen, so I don't know much about his story. But the little nods of his PTSD from the war were definitely there, even if it isn't the main focus. We're reminded that he just wants a normal life after such a troubled past. But all that changes when his niece, played by Yvette Monreal, is kidnapped by Mexican human traffickers. I once read a headline that said this was a "MAGA" movie, so I can imagine a hairy fox news watching Trumpster shouting "I KNEW IT" at the screen. Just a little joke, I honestly don't understand why that was said in that article. The film does derive off stereotypes on Hispanics playing criminals or evil doers on screen. But evil can come from any race, that being said, safe to say this movie was pretty much the Mexican Taken, if Liam Neeson pulled a guys collarbone out with his bare hands. Yes Stallone does that, even literally ripping a man's heart out. The performances were very good, the villains did a great job making us hate them, even though their dialogue of selling girls was cliche and has been said before in other films. Overall, it's a gruesome action film that you can enjoy if you're into that kind of stuff. And if you're a fan of past Rambo films, I'm sure you'll like this one.
6.5 Arrows out of 10 Vs carved on people's cheek
#filmreview #rambo #lastblood #actionfilm #sylvesterstallone #bowandarrow
