Sunday is World Rivers Day, a celebration of the world's waterways. It highlights the many values of rivers and strives to increase public awareness and encourages the improved stewardship of rivers around the world. Here in the Delaware River Basin, we of course celebrate the Delaware River, but also the many tributaries that feed it and make up its 13,539 square-mile watershed. Pictured here is the upper Delaware River at Long Eddy, N.Y., which is part of the 70-mile long Upper Delaware Scenic & Recreational River, included in the National Wild and Scenic River System.
