Hello, I'm back! This summer, I had to take an unwanted break from Instagram because my account was restricted. Not being allowed to give likes or to follow people back was quite frustrating, especially because the restrictions were unfair. I have always tried to keep my activity at a very decent balance, no foul play, no pestering people, haven't paid for followers or likes, never used a bot to automate likes and follows. I did however use a certain app that allowed me to upload pictures from my computer - and that is what I suspect caused this unpleasant situation. The fact that I was very ethical in my use of that app is of no consequence, unfortunately.
That was two months and a half ago, though. I hoped it was over, but, today, after liking just a few pictures from people I follow (and who follow me), I got the notice again: "This action was blocked. Please try again later. We restrict certain content and actions to protect our community. Tell us if you think we made a mistake." @Instagram, the community doesn't need to be protected from me! My sincere appreciation for the wonderful content in my stream is not a threat to anyone! Why should I not be able to give minimal tokens of appreciation, likes, to people who brighten up my day with the beautiful images they share?
Yes, @Instagram, you made a mistake, I've been reporting it for a while now. It would be so lovely to have this sorted out!
