As the largest natural lake west of the Mississippi River and the widest salt water lake in the western hemisphere, the Great Salt Lake is perhaps the best known geologic feature in the northern Utah. The photo depicts Antelope Island. At 24 kilometers long and 7 kilometers wide is the broadest island in Great Salt Lake. Named in 1845 is now home to many free-roaming animals including a herd of more than 500 bison. This was another outstanding scenery we experienced during the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse Expedition 💥💥💥 :-)
